Funds are being distributed by the Department of Labor to fund three major categories:
- Adult employment and training ($500 million)
- Youth activities ($1.2 billion); Youth Build activities ($50 million)
- Dislocated worker employment and training ($1.25 billion)
- Dislocated workers assistance national reserve ($200 million)
- Competitive grants for high-growth and emerging industry sectors ($750 million)
- For the enforcement of worker protection laws and regulations (includes funding for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Employment Benefits Security Administration)
- For oversight and coordination activities related to the infrastructure and unemployment insurance investments
- For construction, rehabilitation, and acquisition of Job Corps Centers
