Workforce development and training: $4.3 billion

Funds are being distributed by the Department of Labor to fund three major categories:

Training and employment services: $4 billion

  • Adult employment and training ($500 million)
  • Youth activities ($1.2 billion); Youth Build activities ($50 million)
  • Dislocated worker employment and training ($1.25 billion)
  • Dislocated workers assistance national reserve ($200 million)
  • Competitive grants for high-growth and emerging industry sectors ($750 million)

Worker protection and oversight: $80 million

  • For the enforcement of worker protection laws and regulations (includes funding for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Employment Benefits Security Administration)
  • For oversight and coordination activities related to the infrastructure and unemployment insurance investments


Job Corps facilities construction: $250 million

  • For construction, rehabilitation, and acquisition of Job Corps Centers
