Current federal guidance, EPACT 2005 PL-109-58, EISA 2007 PL-110-140, Exec Order 13423, and Exec Order 13514 provide the energy-efficiency and sustainable-design standards for federal buildings. Military structures must be designed not only to comply with this guidance, but also to provide the necessary protection against threats that ordinary structures may not have. This webinar will discuss how precast concrete can both meet the current energy and sustainability guidance and assist in meeting your program requirements, including impact and blast resistance. Other topics will include aesthetics, speed of construction and schedule, maintenance, durability, and service life.
The program requirements for school construction have changed over the past years, with a recent increased emphasis on sustainable design. Today’s schools need to be durable, high-performance facilities with low maintenance costs. This webinar will present practical approaches to designing and building sustainable schools utilizing precast concrete. Some of the specifics covered include aesthetics, energy efficiency, site impact, schedule, LEED certification, and ways in which designers can control cost and quality in precast projects.
In today’s world of design, projects need to able to stand out or sometimes blend in, as well as everything in between. Exterior building facades must be sustainable, durable, energy efficient, and yet versatile enough to allow designers to meet their aesthetic requirements and desires. This webinar will discuss how precast concrete’s aesthetic versatility can help you achieve your design goals, from combination finishes to veneers of natural materials to self-cleaning facades. The newest innovations in precast concrete aesthetics will also be presented.
Each webinar will be registered for one hour of continuing education credit. Continuing-education credits include LUs/PDHs.
